Kindergarten plants tower garden in classroom

Kindergarten teacher Katelyn Ewing explains how her students are planting a tower garden in their classroom.

The kindergarten classroom continued its lesson in learning about plants and life, adding seedlings to its tower garden.

Arugula, bibb lettuce, gourmet lettuce, rainbow chard, cucumber, kale and basil seeds were carefully added to tower garden. The class also planted 48 sunflowers to be transferred outside once the weather warms up.

It was a continuation of a month-long study of nature to coincide with Earth Month.

Katelyn Ewing serves as kindergarten teacher, with Cathy Sapelak serving as the primary teacher aide.
