New Morning School’s series of week-long summer camps begin in July 13 and run through Aug. 14.

STEM Camps are available for children entering grades 2-6. Students entering grades K-1 may participate in our Junior Explorer Science Camps. Discovery Days participants are ages 3-6.

Discovery Days

Discovery Days are 90-minute classes designed to expose children ages 3 to 6 (must be toilet trained) to a topic of interest. Students are encouraged to attend both early- and mid-morning sessions to create a week of half days. Call to assist in a class and your child will attend at no cost.

Junior Explorer Science Camps

July 20-24, July 27-31, August 3-7
Entering K – 1 9:00 AM – Noon. Latchkey: 7:30 – 9:00 AM

Junior Explorer camps are designed to help our young discoverers embark into the world of science. Before-camp latchkey is available starting at 7:30 AM. There is a Science EXPO for parents each Friday at 11:30 AM. Call to assist in a class and your child will attend at no cost. If you also have a student in the preschool classes, your Jr. Explorer may stay until 12:30 pm.

Science Camps

Science camps are designed to immerse children, entering grades 2-6, in science and problem solving. Before- and after-camp latchkey is available. There is a Science EXPO for parents each Friday at 11:30 AM.


Early Bird Discounts and Fees: Receive a 10% discount if you pay in full for two or more classes by May 15, 2020. If fees exceed $350, a 50% deposit may be paid with registration and the balance due by June 1, 2020. See below for class fees.

Snacks: All students should bring a snack for mid-morning and afternoon. If staying for lunch, please pack a lunch. For the safety of others, do not send food with peanuts or tree nuts. Thank you.

T-Shirts: This year a t-shirt for each camper is free. Indicate the size of the t-shirt on the registration form. Please have your child wear the shirt each day to show our spirit!

Life Threatening Allergies: If your child has a life-threatening allergy and requires an epi pen, you are required to meet with the camp director at 8:15 am on the first morning of camp. You will receive required forms by email. The form requires a doctor’s signature. Please bring a labeled epi pen (if needed) and email a close-up photo of your child.

Volunteers: If you would like to volunteer in Discovery Days or Junior Explorer, your child will attend at no cost. Volunteers arrive a half hour early and also help with clean-up. Please call the school at 734-420-3331.

Discovery Days – Ages 3 – 6 9:00 – 10:30 AM and/or 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Class fee: $54.00 per class. Students are invited to stay for an early morning and a late morning session. Bring a snack. There is no charge for the supervised half hour between classes. Wear your free t-shirt. Children must be toilet trained.

Junior Explorer Camps – entering grades K – 1 9:00 AM – Noon Morning latchkey available 7:30 AM – 9 AM. Class fee: $105 per camp Bring a snack and wear your free shirt.

Science Camps – entering grades 2 – 6 Half days, 9:00 AM – Noon; or full days, 9 AM – 3 PM Latchkey available 7:30 AM – 6 PM. Latchkey fee of $6.00/hr. is payable every Friday. Class fee: $115 per half-day camp $195 per full-day campField trip fee: $15 / camp
