We began our search for a school for our son the year before he started kindergarten.
As experienced parents with children in 10th and 12th grade, we knew that public education had come up a bit short for us and we were looking for something that was a better match for our educational values and goals. To be honest, we held an exhaustive search, exploring everything from home schooling to parochial schools to charter schools and beyond. We visited and talked to administrators, teachers and parents, looking for the best fit for us.
This may sound a bit over the top, but the good news was that we found our match here at New Morning School!

What we found here was a whole-child approach to learning that checked all the boxes for us. We love that the foundation of the school experience is to foster a love of learning in children. Days are scheduled in a way that is developmentally appropriate while challenging, instead of pushing.
The low student to teacher ratio is key to ensuring that teachers really know and understand each child’s gifts and struggles so that they are able to implement learning plans and goals to meet their individual needs.
Individualized learning and opportunities for movement
We also appreciate the recognition that students need time to move and be outdoors and that this is a priority for children at all grade levels.
Our experience this year in kindergarten has been phenomenal. Ms. Katelyn is quite possibly the best teacher any of our children has ever had and she has far surpassed our expectations for the year. As parents, we have benefited from the sense of community that is present at the school and have enjoyed the option to be able to participate in the school at a level that is appropriate for us.
We all know that no school is perfect but New Morning School is perfect for us!
