The Science Behind Pixar: An elementary field trip to the Henry Ford

The magic of Pixar movies actually isn’t magic; it’s more like a detailed process that combines art, science and teamwork into a creative finished product.

That’s the message learned from New Morning School’s elementary class on a trip to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.

Exploring the process of incorporating science and technology into creating Pixar films, “The Science Behind Pixar” exhibit offered more than 40 interactive elements, focusing on each of the steps in the production pipeline of creating each film through a series of hands-on activities.

“Our students are learning about movies, the science, the art, the creativity and the math that goes into how to make these,” said elementary teacher Christine Jansen.
